Trees, Trees, Trees ...
Oyster Harbors Services has commissioned a detailed survey of the trees and vegetation on the Oyster Harbors roadways.
The report, conducted by Bartlett Tree Experts, represents the visual inspection of all trees located within 10 feet of the paved road edge encompassing all paved roadways throughout the Oyster Harbors Island. The inspection took place over a 2-day period from June 27th, 2007 through June 28th, 2007.
The objective of this 2-day site visit was to evaluate every tree located within 10 feet of a paved road throughout the 8 miles of roadways on Oyster Harbors. Each tree was evaluated for visual defects that could contribute to a decrease in the structural integrity of the tree. Bartlett Tree Experts is not stating every defect in every tree was observed. It should also be understood that trees might have some structural defects that cannot be found through a visual inspection.
Additionally, Bartlett Tree Experts evaluated all vegetation along the paved roads to maintain clearance of 3 feet from the pavement edge and 14 feet in height.
You may refer to the highlighted map detailing areas of paved roadways in need of vegetation clearance. The clearance work suggested is to maintain standard roadway clearance of 3 feet from paved edges and 14 feet high over paved surfaces.
Please refer to the attached island road map highlighting the areas in need of this type of clearance.
